Comtec Keeps You Informed About the Future of Service | Comtec Australia

Comtec Keeps You Informed About the Future of Service | Comtec Australia Service Excellence Comtec keeps you informed about the future of service. Manufacturing technology continues to advance rapidly, and as equipment becomes more sophisticated, Comtec is evolving its technical service capability to meet and exceed those expectations. ⏱ 3 min read Comtec Australia · April 2026 Contents Quality Service Has Never Been More Important The Expanding Role of Technical Service Technology and Expertise Combine Effectively at Comtec Comtec Team Members Train in Europe and Asia It’s no secret that manufacturing technology continues to advance rapidly. Injection moulding machines are becoming more intuitive and increasingly data driven. Robotic systems are integrating more seamlessly across complete production cells, and material handling platforms are evolving into centralised, automated and digitally controlled systems. Quality service has never been more important. Controller platforms such as Arburg’s GESTICA and Stäubli’s CS9 architecture provide enhanced usability, deeper diagnostics and greater system integration. Moretto drying, dosing and material conveying systems now operate with high levels of precision and monitoring capability. Comtec also supports other world-leading companies in the industrial technology and equipment space including Moretto, Coperion, K-Tron, Tampoprint, HB-Therm, Eisbar, SISE, FRIGOSYSTEMS, FlexiBowl, Pulsotronic and Mass International. As equipment becomes more sophisticated, Comtec is aware the expectations placed on our technical service increase accordingly. We are constantly evolving our service capabilities to not just meet, but exceed, these expectations. The expanding role of technical service. Modern service capability requires a broad and integrated understanding of: Mechanical tolerances and alignment. Hydraulic performance and contamination control. Electrical systems and servo drives. Controller software and parameter structures. Automation interfaces and communication networks. While advanced diagnostics and intelligent fault reporting assist with identifying issues, quality servicing is only as good as the interpretation of that information. Understanding the implications of that data, verifying root cause and restoring equipment to correct operating condition still relies on technical experience and hands-on expertise. Yes, digital platforms provide visibility but skilled technicians provide resolution. The future of service is not about replacing people with software, it is about combining advanced machine platforms with highly trained engineers who understand the equipment at its core. Technology and expertise combine effectively at Comtec. Remote diagnostics, predictive maintenance tools and intelligent controllers are valuable additions to modern manufacturing environments. They improve response time and system transparency. However, high-precision injection moulding machines, industrial robotics and auxiliary systems still depend on correct mechanical setup, calibrated systems and the disciplined preventative maintenance Comtec delivers. Even as control systems evolve, the installed base of equipment across Australia will require experienced technicians capable of mechanical inspection, system verification and application-level troubleshooting for many years to come. Comtec team members train in Europe and Asia. Comtec’s commitment to training is reflected in our significant investment in sending our team members to the source – to the headquarters of our manufacturing partners across Europe and Asia. Matthew Enriquez Sales Engineer Matthew Enriquez just returned from Stäubli in Germany and France to complete a two-week specialised training program in fluid connectors and quick tool change systems, before heading to ARS in Arezzo, Italy for FlexiBowl training. Troy Parker Our Operations Manager Troy Parker is travelling to Moretto in Italy for a one-week technical training program, before attending Arburg in Germany to attend a further one-week intensive technical sales training course at Arburg. This invaluable training will strengthen our capability in fluid connectors, robotic end-of-arm tooling applications, and robotic integration solutions. These programs deepen our technical knowledge across automation, injection moulding technology, robotic integration and material handling systems – reinforcing the connection between global OEM engineering and local Australian service capability. There will be more training to come for our technicians in the second half of this year, including a two-week course at Stäubli Japan, as we extend and expand the knowledge and skills of our team. Preventative Maintenance Protects Production Performance | Comtec

Preventative Maintenance Protects Production Performance | Comtec Australia Service Preventative maintenance protects production performance long before a machine stops. Downtime is rarely caused by sudden catastrophic failure. More often, it begins with wear, contamination, misalignment, calibration drift or component fatigue that builds gradually until production reliability is affected. 4 min read Comtec Australia · April 2026 Contents Why preventative maintenance matters What Comtec checks across key platforms Strong partnerships and technical standards Reducing downtime and hidden cost Supporting the installed base across Australia Production downtime caused by machinery failure is one of the most significant operational risks manufacturers face. That is why Comtec places such a strong focus on preventative maintenance across our injection moulding, robotics and automation business. In practice, breakdowns rarely begin as a single dramatic event. More often, they emerge through gradual mechanical wear, hydraulic contamination, calibration drift, misalignment or component fatigue. Left unchecked, these conditions eventually affect machine stability, process consistency and part quality. At Comtec, our preventative maintenance approach is built around identifying these issues before they interrupt production. The goal is not simply to service equipment, but to preserve machine accuracy, operating stability and long-term reliability in line with documented OEM standards. Downtime is rarely the first sign of a problem. It is often the final result of issues that could have been measured and corrected earlier. What Comtec checks across key platforms. We apply this structured maintenance approach across Arburg injection moulding machines, Staubli robotic systems, Moretto material handling platforms and other integrated automation equipment. For Arburg injection moulding machines, this includes: Tie-bar stretch measurement Platen parallelism verification Injection unit calibration Hydraulic system inspection Accumulator testing and charging Oil filtration and particle contamination analysis For Staubli robotic systems and integrated automation cells, this includes: Mechanical axis inspection Repeatability verification Cable and harness assessment Controller diagnostics Safety system validation For Moretto drying, dosing and material conveying systems, this includes: Dryer performance verification Dew point and temperature validation Dosing calibration System inspection and cleaning By servicing equipment to documented OEM standards, machines are maintained within their designed operating specifications. This helps protect part quality, reduce process variation and extend service life. Strong partnerships and technical standards. Comtec has built long-standing relationships with a range of world-leading companies, supporting their installed equipment with preventative maintenance and technical service. These relationships reflect a long-term commitment to disciplined service standards and reliable local support. Arburg Staubli Moretto Coperion K-Tron Tampoprint HB-Therm Eisbar SISE Frigosystems FlexiBowl Pulsotronic Mass International If preferred, this section can be replaced later with the same partner-logo treatment already used on the Comtec website. Reducing downtime and hidden cost. Reactive repair increases operational uncertainty. Unexpected machine failure does not only stop production and disrupt delivery commitments. It can also create a range of secondary costs and process impacts. Increased scrap and rework Secondary component damage Higher long-term repair costs Reduced confidence in process stability Comtec’s structured preventative maintenance process reduces these risks by identifying wear, instability and system drift before they escalate into breakdowns. The result is greater predictability in environments where production reliability is critical. Supporting the installed base across Australia. Australia has a substantial installed base of injection moulding machines, industrial robots and auxiliary equipment operating across medical, packaging, food-grade and technical manufacturing sectors. Much of this equipment will remain in service for many years. With disciplined preventative maintenance programs, these machines can continue operating safely, efficiently and reliably well beyond their original service expectations. At Comtec, preventative maintenance is not simply routine servicing. It is a proactive strategy to protect manufacturing capability, reduce downtime and maintain production performance across Australian industry. Preventative maintenance is not just about avoiding breakdowns. It is about protecting machine accuracy, process consistency and production confidence over the long term. HB-Therm launches Flow-6 at K 2025

Where Innovation Meets Efficiency HB-Therm launches Flow-6 at K 2025 HB-Therm, the Swiss market leader in temperature control technology, has unveiled its latest innovation at K 2025 in Düsseldorf: the all-new Flow-6 series of flow meters and controllers. Designed to deliver unmatched precision, process reliability, and seamless integration, Flow-6 expands the successful Series 6 range and sets a new benchmark for injection moulding performance. HB-Therm presents Flow-6 – a new chapter in precision temperature control At K 2025 in Düsseldorf, Swiss manufacturer HB-Therm unveiled the latest evolution of its technology – the Flow-6. For decades, HB-Therm has been known for setting new benchmarks in temperature control. With Flow-6, the company is now expanding its successful Series 6 into flow measurement and flow control, creating a new standard for accuracy and integration in plastics processing. As HB-Therm’s exclusive partner in Australia and New Zealand, Comtec is proud to bring Flow-6 to local processors. For our customers, this launch represents more than just a new product – it’s a smarter way to ensure process reliability, part quality and energy efficiency. A breakthrough in ultrasonic precision Flow-6 uses ultrasonic technology to measure flow rates with exceptional accuracy – even at extremely low levels, starting from just 0.4 L/min. Backed by 20 years of ultrasonic expertise and a lifetime warranty on the measuring sections, Flow-6 gives processors confidence that their cooling circuits are always under control. Compact, intelligent, and designed for integration One of Flow-6’s key strengths is its compact footprint. At only 240 mm wide and 165 mm deep, it fits directly into injection moulding machines without sacrificing space. Depending on the version – 4, 6, or 8 circuits – the height ranges from 264 to 484 mm. With options for water up to 100, 160, and 180 °C, each circuit is monitored individually, giving processors early warnings of deviations before they turn into costly quality issues. Availability and digital control The first Flow-6 flow meters will be available from June 2026, followed by flow controllers in January 2027. Control is handled via OPC UA with the Gate-6 interface server, which also doubles as a remote controller for HB-Therm’s Thermo-6 units – giving operators a single, integrated platform for temperature and flow management.
