Comtec delivers robotic and automation solutions engineered for speed, precision and clean manufacturing — six-axis and four-axis robots, machine vision, flexible feeding, mobile robots and turnkey cells, built around your process and supported locally.

A robot arm on its own doesn't make anything. What makes a production cell work is everything around it — how parts arrive, how the system knows which part it has and where, what the gripper does, how it talks to the machine next to it, and who fixes it at 6am when it stops.
Comtec supplies all of that from one place, and engineers it as one system. That is what "end-to-end" actually means here: a single team scoping, building, commissioning and supporting the whole cell, rather than three vendors pointing at each other.

Comtec's robotics and automation technologies for handling, vision, feeding, tool changing, mobile automation and in-mould labelling in Australian manufacturing environments.

High-performance four-axis and six-axis robots for fast, precise and clean manufacturing.

Learn moreVision is what turns a robot from something that repeats into something that responds. Instead of fixturing every part into exactly the right position, the cell finds the part wherever it lands, checks it is the correct one, and hands the robot a position rather than a guess.
SensoPart VISOR® sensors do their own processing on board and output part position directly in robot coordinates — including for Stäubli — so the robot program receives a usable pose instead of pixel data someone still has to convert. Inspection, code reading and 3D bin picking run on the same platform.

Comtec delivers locally supported automation across Australia, designed for real production environments — not laboratory conditions.
Hygienic robotic automation for sorting, portioning and packaging of food products. Designed for cleanability, precision and compliance with food industry standards.
Robotic systems designed for sterile, hygienic and tightly controlled production environments. Stäubli robots support ISO cleanroom compatibility and sealed architecture for ultra-clean processes.
Robotic loading and unloading for injection moulding machines, CNC, presses and automated lines. Built for harsh environments with heat, dust, coolant and high duty cycles.
High-precision assembly for medical devices, electronics and multi-component products. Excellent repeatability for micro-assembly and tight tolerances.
Robotic inspection and measurement for consistent quality and traceability in demanding production environments. Ideal for medtech, electronics and precision manufacturing.
High-speed pick, place and packing automation for trays, bags, cartons and kitting workflows. Designed for continuous operation with repeatable placement.
Fast, precise label placement directly inside injection moulding cycles. Built to withstand heat, static and high-speed moulding environments.
Vision-guided feeding for high-mix, small-part and irregular component production. FlexiBowl integrates seamlessly for fast, reliable orientation.
Autonomous and robotic movement of trays, pallets and components across production areas. Designed for clean, safe and efficient factory logistics.
Reliable robotic systems for palletising, stacking and end-stage product handling. Ideal for high-speed lines requiring stable, repeatable throughput.
Feeding automation straight from bulk supply instead of from trays somebody had to load by hand — unsorted parts, irregular shapes, reflective and transparent components.
Barcode, data matrix and direct-part-mark reading with code quality grading, tied into your MES or ERP so every part carries its production record.
The expensive mistakes happen before anything is built. Our engineering team scopes the right solution for your process, cycle time and environment — and tells you when automation isn't the answer.
On-site assessment of the process, the parts, the cycle time and the constraints you actually work under.
A recommended configuration with the trade-offs stated plainly — including where a simpler solution does the job.
Build, integration, FAT and SAT, installation, commissioning and training for the people who will run it.
Ongoing service from factory-certified technicians, with spare parts and process support held locally.
Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and regional sites — with factory-trained technicians and parts held in Australia, not shipped from Europe when something stops.
Both, but the value is in the second. Comtec supplies Stäubli robots as a distributor and also engineers complete production cells — vision, feeding, tooling, conveying, safety, robot and PLC programming, FAT and SAT, commissioning and training. You can buy an arm from us, but most customers come because they want the whole thing to work.
Yes — most of our work is retrofitting automation around existing production, not greenfield lines. Integration covers PLC and HMI programming, industrial networks, safety integration and interfacing to existing injection moulding machines, CNC and packaging equipment.
Plastics processing, medical devices and pharmaceutical, food and beverage, electronics, automotive and general precision manufacturing. The common thread is production that needs repeatability, traceability or hygiene rather than sheer volume.
Scoping decides that, and it happens before you commit. We assess the process on site, test real parts where vision or feeding is involved, and give you a configuration with cycle times and trade-offs stated plainly. If the numbers don't work, we say so.
